4th of July Schedule

SATURDAY

Boat Parade Float Contest

4:30pm: Boats meet at the State Boat Launch on Dock Rd.
5pm: Parade to the Long Lake Town Beach

Dress-up your boat! We’ll take ANY boat–pontoon, motor boat, canoe, kayak, sail boat, inflatable raft, as long as it floats! You can get fancy (ala the Raquette Lake Loon Pontoon) or simple (stick a few American flags in your boat and hit the water!)–just join the parade whatever you got! Meet at the state boat launch on Dock Rd. at 4:30pm. We’ll then parade past the beach, through the bridge, loop around near the spillway and come back to the beach for the awards ceremony! Prizes for 1st-3rd overall, wackiest and most Long Lakey.

SUNDAY

The Yod Squad Performs on the W.W. Durant in Raquette Lake

9:30pm

Get your friends and family together and drive on over the RL for a moonlight cruise on the W.W. Durant and a concert by local band, The Yod Squad! Tickets are $7, which includes your chance to win a dinner cruise! Visit http://www.raquettelakenavigation.com/cruisesMOONLIGHT for more info!

MONDAY: THE FOURTH!

Games on the Ball Field

10am

Treasure Hunt for the 4 & under set at 10am, then comes the sack races, three-legged race, wheel barrel race, The Great Long Lake Egg Toss and all your other classic favorites! Open to all, even adults! Winners take a trip to our epic prizebooth with hundreds of great and weird things to choose from.

The Great Long Lake Bed Races

5pm, Main St (Town Bridge to Town Beach)

The Bed Races are back for a second time in the 21st century! Find an old bed, slap some wheels on it, decorate it, decorate yourselves and race to glory and fame! $10 per bed entry fee. Must wear sneakers. Show up by 4:30pm to register. BIG PRIZES! $80 for 1st, $60 for 2nd, $40 for 3rd and $80 for Best in Show (most creative, prettiest, etc).

Ernie Williams and the Annual Long Lake 4th of July Celebration!

6:30pm-10pm, Long Lake Town Beach

Blue legend Ernie Williams and his band perform a free concert, the fire dept serves up their famous sausage and peppers, the Boy Scouts sell some delicious strawberry shortcake, Penelope the Clown paints faces in the gazebo and fireworks go off at dusk!

    Is Long Lake such a dull, boring town that nothing noteworthy has happened since the July 4th update????????????
