The 100 Year Flood
Check out the view from the porch of the Adirondack Hotel. While we clearly are laughing it up, it is not lost on any of us the damage the flood waters have caused. Our thoughts go out to all the property owners of Long Lake. It’s only April 28th. We have plenty of time to dry out. Long time resident of 93 years has never seen the water this high.
Wicked video! And Johnny Cash? Brilliant!

Thanks for putting this up for all to see. Feel helpless being here in Hungary, but know all will work out.

I cheer your Adirondacker spirit. You guys are having a ball in spite of it all. I wouldn’t expect anything less. Thank you for the video. I’ll be smiling for quite a while over that.

Holy crap! My family are Tupper Lakers & I’m a Ranger School grad. I havent been up that way in about 4 years, but that water level is amazing. Buttermilk Falls must only be a riffle. Out here in Arizona, my heart goes out to anyone who has suffered due to this flooding.
Gotta love to Adirondack spirit! God bless.

Hope everyone is able to come out of this unfortunate situation fairly unscathed. Mountain folk are as tough as they get. Hope all is dried out by Americade as we’ll be stopping in for the night on June 11th, just like we do every year. Been coming to L.L. for 30+ years. My favorite place on earth. blessings to you all.

Holy Cats! I heard about the flooding this spring in Newcomb (I lived there the last 10 years – until the VIC closed), but no one mentioned this! I’ve posted the video on my blog, too – to share the news and that Adirondack Spirit.
